About the Event

Small-Ship Adventure Cruising to the Arctic, Antarctic, and South Georgia – Marion Hall

Marion's presentation will focus on the culture, ease of travel, weather, animal life, and the various adventures and misadventures she and her husband had when they cruised way up north and way down south.  In July and August of 2004, they traveled to Northern Alaska, Provideniya in Russia, and the Aleutians, following the itinerary of the Edward Harriman expedition of 1899.  Travel was to very remote and rarely seen islands in the Bering Sea.  Then in November 2007, they traveled with the same company to the Falklands, South Georgia, and the Antarctic mainland.  On some of their landings, there was wildlife as far as the eye could see.  Join Marion as she takes us along on what she describes as “adventure travel at its most adventurous.”
