Nine Days in the Western Egyptian Desert – Anita Ruthling Klaussen

Anita was booked for the usual Egyptian tourist trip on the Nile in March 2022.  When looking at a map, she noticed that there were five oases in the vast Western Desert and decided that was where she wanted to go.  So after a wonderful standard Nile trip, she spent nine days on a one-woman custom tour of the oases, traveling with only a local guide and driver in a very conservative part of Egypt.  They camped out in the White Desert, a phantasmagorical place, and she was amazed to find impressive ruins and tombs.  She was hosted in three family homes, which proved to be a highlight of the trip.  Join Anita at the Longwood Cricket Club where she will take you along on what turned out to be one of her greatest adventures ever!
