Program Description 

Exploring Northern India:  From Rajasthan to Varanasi – Nancy Kelly

The Mughal Empire ruled most of the Indian subcontinent for several hundred years and created some of the world’s most sublime imperial monuments.  Delhi, Agra, and Fatehpur Sikri are inspired examples, as are Rajasthan’s princely cities of Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur.  In 2012, Nancy and husband Jay traveled with an MIT group visiting exquisite palaces, ancient fortresses, traditional bazaars, the Dussehra Festival, and two of India’s impressive wildlife parks – Ranthambore and Keoladeo Ghana.  Exploring on their own, they visited Khajuraho’s magnificent temples, searched for Panna National Park’s tigers, and experienced Varanasi, India’s spiritual capital and one of world’s oldest continually inhabited cities.  Join Nancy as she shares with you the sights and her insights from her third India adventure.

Mailed invitations include an RSVP form and self-addressed envelope to return to Marilyn Brandt, P. O. Directions to Wellesley College Club, 727 Washington St, Wellesley, MA

From Points North:  Route 128/Interstate 95 South to Route 16 (Exit 22-21B).  Follow 21B (left fork of exit ramp).

From Boston:  Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) West to Exit 16 (West Newton).  Follow Route 16 West to the intersection of Route 128.

From Points West:  Take Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) East to Exit 14 (Weston).  Take Route 128 (Interstate 95) South for 0.5 mile to Route 16 West (Exit 22-21B).  Follow 21B (left fork of exit ramp). 

From Points South:  Take Route 128 (Interstate 95) North to Route 16 West (Exit 22-21B).  Follow 21B (left fork of exit ramp).

Continuation from all directions above:

Proceed on Route 16 West.  You will drive through the Town of Wellesley for approximately 4 miles.  Turn right at the entrance to Wellesley College, opposite the golf course and a parking lot.  The club is the first building on the left inside the entrance. Handicap parking is available near the front door and regular parking in the lot beside the WCC.
