Program Description

The Mughal Empire ruled most of the Indian subcontinent for several hundred years and created some of the world’s most sublime imperial monuments. Delhi, Agra, and Fatehpur Sikri are inspired examples, as are Rajasthan’s princely cities of Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur. In 2012, Nancy and husband Jay traveled with an MIT group visiting exquisite palaces, ancient fortresses, traditional bazaars, the Dussehra Festival, and two of India’s impressive wildlife parks – Ranthambore and Keoladeo Ghana. Exploring on their own, they visited Khajuraho’s magnificent temples, searched for Panna National Park’s tigers, and experienced Varanasi, India’s spiritual capital and one of world’s oldest continually inhabited cities.
