About the Event
Event Information
12noon Bring-Your-Own Lunch, beverages and desserts will be provided.
Invited to a wedding in Bangladesh, Glenda and her husband Don spent two weeks exploring this hot, humid, densely populated country. They traveled from Dhaka, the capital, to the stone-gathering industry in the far northeast. They wandered through tropical jungles, visited tea production, spent the night on a boat in the Sundarbans, and rode a train through the agricultural region of the West. Most travelers here are academics studying the ancient cultures of this colorful country or are staff with NGOs trying to improve the lives of the residents. Foreigners traveling as Glenda and Don did are rare. Glenda’s colorful photos capture the beauty and the challenge of one of the poorest countries in the world.
